Abstract

Purpose: This community service program aimed to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem of coastal communities by enhancing the capacity and competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pidodokulon Village, Kendal Regency, Central Java.
Research Methodology: The program applied the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach and involved 25 MSME participants. The activities included training, discussion, and mentoring based on local assets and entrepreneurial potential. Evaluation used structured pre- and post-test questionnaires with a five-point Likert scale to assess participants’ knowledge and understanding of marketing, product development, financial management and business networking.
Results: The evaluation indicated positive improvements across all the assessed indicators. The participants demonstrated a better understanding of fundamental digital marketing concepts, brand image development, and product differentiation. Their knowledge of product innovation and awareness of the importance of continuous product quality improvement also showed significant progress. In addition, competencies in financial recording and business networking improved following the implementation of the program, reflecting enhanced knowledge and practical capabilities among participants in various aspects of entrepreneurial development
Conclusions: The training and mentoring activities improved participants' entrepreneurial knowledge and understanding and provided an initial foundation for strengthening a more adaptive and collaborative coastal entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Limitations: The limited implementation period restricted the assessment of the long-term outcomes.
Contributions: This study offers a practical community empowerment model that integrates entrepreneurship, digital transformation, financial literacy, and business networking to support sustainable local economic development in Indonesia.
